Description

Invokamet (Canagliflozin/Metformin Hydrochloride) is prescription medication used with diet and exercise to lower blood sugar levels in patients with Type 2 Diabetes. Invokamet is a combination of Canagliflozin and Metformin HCI which are both oral diabetes medicines that works together by helping to restore your body’s proper response to the insulin your naturally produce. It also helps your kidney to remove sugar in the stomach and intestines. Invokamet should NOT be used for patients with Type 1 Diabetes or with diabetic ketoacidosis (increased ketones in blood or urine). Take Invokamet exactly prescribed.

Cautions

Do not take Invokamet if you are allergic to Canagliflozin/Metformin or lincomycin or any ingredient in this medication. Tell your doctor about all the medical conditions you have had before. • An electrolyte imbalance; • Bladder infections or other urination problems; • Blood problems; • Breathing problems or asthma; • Dehydration; • Diabetes; • Heart disease; • Kidney or liver disease; • Pancreas disorder or surgery; • Yeast infections in the vagina or penis; • If you are on a low salt diet; Tell your doctor about all the medicines you are taking including prescriptions and over-the-counter medicines including herbal supplements, especially: digoxin, diuretic or water pill, insulin, rifampin, ritonavir, seizure medicines, or other oral diabetes medications. This may cause a serious or fatal drug interaction. Consult your doctor if you are getting pregnant or breastfeeding.

The most common side effects of Invokamet include: • Bloating and gas; • Constipation; • Diarrhea; • Dry mouth; • Headache; • Nausea; • Stomach pain; • Vomiting; • Weakness; If you suffer any serious side effects as below, please notify your doctor or pharmacist immediately. • Burning or painful urination; • Dizziness or light-headedness; • Irregular heartbeat; • Muscle pain or weakness; • Numbness or tingly feeling; • Swelling legs or feet; • Unusual vaginal discharge; • Vision changes;
