Description

What does Xalatan treat?

Xalatan 0.005% (Latanoprost)

Xalatan 0.005 eye drops belong to a group called ophthalmic glaucoma agents. They are used in the treatment of high-pressure conditions inside the eye which may be due to open-angle glaucoma or other eye diseases like ocular hypertension. Latanoprost is similar in its chemistry to a natural chemical (prostaglandin) present in our body. It acts by regulating the flow of fluid within the eye by increasing its drainage and thus, resulting in lowering of the eye pressure. Lowering high pressure in glaucoma and other eye conditions helps in preventing blindness.

Xalatan eye drops 0.005% are available at Canada Pharmacy and can be purchased on your doctor’s prescription.

Directions

Xalatan eye drops must be used according to your doctor’s prescription. Do not increase, decrease or alter the dose of the drops without consulting your doctor. The usual dose of Xalatan is 1 drop, which is instilled in the affected eye every evening.

If you wear contact lenses, then do not use Xalatan eye drops while wearing your lenses as it can discolor the contact lens. Wait for at least 15 minutes after using the drops before you put back your contact lens.

If you are using other eye medications as well, wait for 5 minutes before applying the other product.
