Description

What is Augmentin used for?

Called Clavulin in Canada

Chemical Name: AMOXICILLIN (a-mox-i-SILL-in) and CLAVULANATE (klav-yoo-LAN-ate)

Augmentin (or Clavulin)

Augmentin is an antibiotic made of amoxicillin, beta-lactamase inhibitor, and Clavulanate Potassium. It belongs to a group of medicines that are identified as penicillin drugs. Augmentin is used to treat infections caused by bacteria like sinusitis, pneumonia, ear infections, bronchitis, urinary tract infections and skin infections. This antibiotic treats infections by inhibiting the growth of bacteria that cause the infections.

This antibiotic is available in two quantities of drug per caplet. Augmentin 875 mg and Augmentin 125 mg.

You can easily buy Augmentin 875 mg online from Canada Pharmacy.

Directions

Augmentin (or Clavulin) is to be taken strictly according to the prescription given by your doctor. Do not change the amount of medicine intake; the intake has to be exactly equal to what the doctor has prescribed.

When the dosage starts, the second dose of antibiotic has to be taken after 12 twelve hours of taking the first dose; and this pattern will follow until the end. While taking the medication, the caplets can either be taken whole or in two pieces (preferably with a meal in to prevent upsetting of the stomach). Do not crush the caplet. If you cannot swallow the whole or halves of the tablet, ask your doctor to recommend another medicine containing amoxicillin 875 mg and Clavulanate Potassium.

The dosage must be taken for the length of time prescribed by the doctor; the length of time should neither be shortened nor elongated.

The tablets must be stored at room temperature and should be kept away from heat and moisture.
